Italianate
The Italianate Style  was an offshoot of the Victorian period and its characteristics are often found in Victorian structures. The style was inspired by the openness of Italian villas and was a reaction to the rigid forms of the Greek Revival Style. Italianate style is romantic and distinguished by the use of ornamental brackets, set under wide cornices, and over door and window hoods.
